n. A typo of leucocyte found in the blood of all vertebrate animals. It is colored blue or purple with Ehrlich's triple stain, and occurs, in man, normally in the proportion of about 30 per cent. of the entire number of white blood-cells. There are two varieties, the large (11 to 14 microns in diameter), and the small (7.5 microns in diameter), the latter being the more numerous.
