A swelling or prominence; especially, in anatomy and zoology, a large rough projection or protuberance of bone; a bony tuber, generally serving for the attachment of a muscle: as, the tuberosity of the ischium, or tuber ischii; the greater and lesser tuberosities of the humerus.
